Product Development – CAE NVH

  • Preparation of CAD geometry in CREO and spaceclaim
  • Meshing and joining bodies in ANSYS and exporting FE bodies for MBS simulation
  • Use Simpack to add all FE bodies, bearing, gear sets and motor elements to simulate a MBS run-up analysis of E-Beam including suspension components
  • Take the results from the MBS simulation and import them into Simcenter3D for acoustic analysis
  • Create acoustic meshs and add microphone arrays to bodies in simcenter3D
  • Analyze and interpret acoustic results then recommend improvements to the design group then report the results to the customer (OEM)
  • Develop new workflows to improve efficiency and reduce simulation time by 20%.
  • Mentor new engineers and instruct on simulation techniques and best practices

Product Development – Torque Converter NVH

  • Torsional automatic drivetrain torsional simulation for four OEMs front wheel drive, rear wheel drive and all wheel drive
  • Develop new damper technologies for pendulum dampers and was the regional go to technical person
  • Present NVH results and conclusions to the customer in tele-conferences and in person
  • Take vehicle measurements at the customer facilities as well as at the Schaeffler facilities
  • Take high speed video of various damper components and production machines
  • Interface with design and testing groups during development and production support activities
  • Mentored three engineers in NVH principles and best practices for drivetrain simulation and measurement
