For years I have been an aspiring Special Education teacher, before COVID, I began my journey at Pasco-Hernando State College. During this time, I achieved my certification in Assistant Social and Human Services and then earning 86 credits towards my AA. When I began the Social and Human Services Degree at PHSC, I purposely found places that specialized in caring for at risk youth or with special needs. Mental health has always held a special interest in my heart and soul. I was beyond grateful when I was able to pursue my dreams as an intern at Hope for the Children Ministries, working directly under Dr. Sheila Cappalo. Throughout the years I continued to grow within the mental health community and began volunteering for NAMI Pasco. During this time, I became a NAMI Connection Recovery Support Group Facilitator. I helped the main facilitator during group therapy. I really enjoyed helping individuals learn how to cope with their diagnosis. I believe everyone is beautiful in their own unique ways and my goal in life is to help individuals with special needs feel their beauty by helping them gain confidence with their mental health diagnosis. I believe, I would be a great asset as an assistant ESE teacher. I adapt quickly to chaotic environments using my skills to calm the room. I have a passion to help these children develop, learn, and grow in a safe and calm environment.
