While employed at Orange County Social Services, each position required knowledge and/or implementation of the following:
- Utilization of Trauma Informed care as well as on-going risk and safety assessments.
- Maintaining confidentiality.
- Writing comprehensive court reports and other documentation, as well as maintaining accurate records.
- Collaboration with service providers, law enforcement and officers of the Court.
- Knowledge of addiction and its impact, as well as recovery support.
- Provide crisis intervention and support in response to emergency situations.
- Sensitive and appropriate response to victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse.
- Maintain professional demeanor during crisis situations; and remain impassive in during potentially offensive situations.
- Made efforts to facilitate family relationships for children and youth and help secure connections beyond dependency.
- Advocate for dependent children.
2019-2024: RFA Investigations, CFS
- Investigated complaints/allegations made against Resource homes, ensured adherence to RFA Written Directives and Title 22 regulations. Determined and presented findings. Wrote comprehensive investigative reports. Created and implemented Corrective Action Plans.
2014-2019: Foster Care Licensing, CFS
- Completed home studies for Foster Parent applicants and prepared them for licensure. Provided support to Foster Families and ensured their foster care license was maintained in compliance with Title 22. Completed annual reviews for licensed homes.
2007-2014: Foster Care Placement, CFS
- Secured foster home placements for dependents of the Juvenile Court. Matched children to appropriate families/homes.Wrote comprehensive court reports. Ensured placement for children of all ages, with various needs, including those with significant medical, emotional, and psychiatric challenges.
2000-2007: Group Homes/MTS, CFS
- Managed a full case load of dependent children for the Juvenile Court, and ensured their needs (medical, educational, social, therapeutic, etc.) were met. Created and maintained case plans for children and their parents. Supported Family Reunification as well as concurrent care. Facilitated family visits. Supported minors through emancipation, and wrote comprehensive court reports.
1998-2000: Diversion, Social Worker II, CFS
- Assessed immediate needs of children at the time of detention, and secured placement foster family homes in order to avoid the necessity of congregate care. Worked closely with Emergency Shelter Homes, as well as Foster Family Agencies, and Licensed Foster Homes.
1994-1998: Orangewood Children's Home, GC1, CFS
- Provided direct care and supervision for dependents of the Juvenile court. These were children, ages 0-18.
