- Assume authority, in the absence of a physician, for the care of a student or staff member who has suffered an injury or emergency illness.
- Liaison between faculty and the insurance claims officer for workers' compensation cases for injured faculty members.
- Reads PPDs and screenings for new employees.
- Approves new registered students based on the NJ schedule of immunizations and proof of health-related requirements.
- Submits data and reports to state agencies related to immunizations.
- Advises the administration on policy regarding the exclusion and re-admission of students in connection with immunizations and infectious or contagious diseases.

- Participate in health and safety in-service training programs.
- Conducts, organizes, and coordinates wellness programs, such as the vaccine clinic onsite and Teacher Wellness Day events.
