Registered Nurse – Surgical Trauma ICU
- Responsible for providing direct nursing care and ensuring precise documentation for critically ill patients with complex needs at a leading academic medical center renowned for its research environment.
- Applies critical thinking skills in managing ventilated patients, analyzing ABG results, and working closely with respiratory therapists to implement necessary adjustments for optimizing patient outcomes.
- Experience with titrating intravenous critical drips, such as norepinephrine, epinephrine, vasopressin, dobutamine, dopamine, nicardipine, propofol, and midazolam, through analysis of non-invasive and invasive hemodynamic monitoring values to optimize patient care.
- Efficiently advocates for effective communication and collaboration among diverse interdisciplinary team members during routine patient care and critical situations, including bedside procedures, rapid sequence intubations, and emergency codes.
- Proficiently assesses and executes interventions for patients requiring specialized equipment, such as Swan-Ganz catheters, arterial lines, Flotrac hemodynamic monitoring, intra-aortic balloon pumps, epicardial pacemakers, and chest tubes.
- Provides education and mentorship to new RNs within the unit, guiding them in expanding their nursing knowledge with an emphasis on promoting safe patient care and integrating evidence-based practices.
