I worked for NISD for several years in different settings as well as different ages and disabilities. I was blessed to get trainings through the district that taught myself different skills as well as how to use what I learned in different classrooms. I resined in 2021 due to a family emergency and started to take care of a family member that needed 24/7 care. As I took care of them I learned how to do wound care, assist with hygiene and assist in daily needs. I drove them to all appointments as well as listened and asked questions to better understand the doctors. I also learned to administer dialysis medication orally and injections. I took classes to assist with hemodialysis as well. I'm educated in assisting with the care of heart attack and stroke patients as well as those who need assistance with moving around. Since I'm no longer needed due to the intensity of care I have been caring for my 4 year old non verbal Autistic grandson as well as substituting as needed. I am ready to start a new journey and am interested in the medical field because I have this passion in being able to help those that can't do for themselves.
