  • RWJ Barnabas Clara Maass Medical Center, a non-profit 342 bed acute/short care center recently recognized Leapfrog Group and Health grades and is designated as Primary Stroke Center by New Jersey Department of Health. Responding to the COVID-19 crisis Med-Sur/Tele, Progressive Care Unit, Oncology, a pop up Covid ICU as well. At this facility they have administered convalescent plasma Remdesivir to research into antibody fighting COVID-19.
  • At this facility my pts were critical to stable condition, I received up to 7 pts. I read cardiac strips before and after every shift. I assessed sepsis, skin, pain, admin medications.

  • Maimonides Medical Center is a non-profit, non-sectarian hospital in the borough of Brooklyn New York with magnet status and trauma level 1. It is a 711 beds treatment facility and academic medical center. It offers adult trauma and Brooklyn's only pediatric trauma centers. All pts were critical.
  • At this facility I responded to the COVID-19 call for help under contract and was floated everyday to critical level care units. I monitored vital signs constantly. Ventilators, Fentanyl, Versed, Levophed, Caramelize drips and high flow with non-re breathers and continuous pulse oximeter. I assessed how sedated pts were every shift and ensured there was no signs of pain present while assessing restraint use age and skin status and monitored pain pumps. I worked 36-48 hours per week and gained a plethora of priceless experience in a crisis type situation. I monitored telemetry monitors and read cardiac strips before and after every shift. I received training on ventilators and respiratory distress, trachea to vent, performed closed deep suctioning, oxygen saturation monitoring and participated in a lot of codes and rapid responses while using PPE designated to reduce risk of exposure.

Ability to function well in stressful situations and to prioritize and delegate work.
  • Administered prescribed medications via any route especially intravenously, performed dressing changes to wounds surgical incisions, monitored drains and tubes such as JP drains, accordion drains, aspiria drains, monitored patients post operatively, administered cardiac drips, heparin drips, PCA pain pumps, monitored for sepsis, CAUTI assessments, central line, midline, PICC management per policy, inserted NG-tubes, foleys, continuous bladder irrigation, feeding pumps for tube feedings, checking residual, I/O's, routine full body shift assessments, receiving critical lab results and consulting with doctors on any changes in conditions. Very comfortable with IV insertion. Monitored fluid balance dehydration and fluid over load. Prepped patients for surgery, performed Doppler's, clipped, orthostatic blood pressures. Constantly monitoring laboratory levels both routine and stat for things such as daily/ hourly Xa's for heparin and/or Coumadin heparin bridge, lactic acids, and troponins.
  • Rapid Response and Code Blue -participation in these emergency scenarios gifted one priceless pears of wisdom.
  • Work as a part of a cohesive team on a 30 beds telemetry unit primarily focusing upon cardiac patient care. Conduct diagnostic testing and perform cardiac and respiratory functioning assessments with telemetry monitoring and remote heart monitoring. Interpret EKGs for patients with myocardial infarctions, chest pain, congestive heart failure, pulmonary emboli and other cardiac related diagnosis. Document patient vital signs statistics, administer medicines, and perform general check ups as part of a daily rounds. Educate patients and families regarding patient rights, stages of disease, medications, treatment plans, procedures and ongoing wellness.

I am a committed family oriented person that works hard everyday. My interest include saving lives, bettering my community and saving our planet from pollution with a special interest and love for our oceans and fighting COVID-19. I have a five and ten year vision board. My goals are to obtain a masters in the field of nursing and gain experience in different settings. In search for an opportunity with a company that needs a highly motivated, driven, smash those tight deadlines type of nurse. Willing to be floor nurse, charge nurse, case manager or supervisor as needed wherever needed as I have no issue traveling. Comfortable with chronically ill patients or acutely ill or both.
