William Floyd Learning Center is a specialized elementary school dedicated to those students with social-emotional and behavioral difficulties. Many of these students are connected to the Judicial Court System. Through Project MOVE, my team and I have created individualized summer programs over the past two years, that has given these students the tools and capacity to rise above and navigate through their daily challenges. I have provided pathways towards achieving set, positive behavioral goals through dance, music, and movement. Project MOVE has demonstrated respect, friendliness, trust, and the willingness to help these students whenever needed throughout these past two summers. I have built personal connections with these students that have allowed us to achieve our set goals with respect and dignity, while teaching important social life skills through behavior management.
