Stephanie Smith

As an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in the Heart and Vascular Intensive Care Unit, I provide comprehensive care to patients across diverse service lines, including advanced heart failure, cardiology, electrophysiology, vascular, and cardiac surgery. My role encompasses managing complex cases during acute decompensating events and delivering postoperative care. My role involves managing these complex cases and multiple cardiac devices, while providing critical support in intensive care settings. I am proud to be part of a unit whose ECMO program was recognized with the Gold Level ELSO Award for Excellence in Life Support and contribute to a heart transplant program with a 95% survival rate, among the best in the nation as of July 2023.

Delivered high-quality care to patients in a 634-bed, level 1 adult/pediatric trauma center as well as primary stroke-certified center. Provided direct medical care to patients requiring intensive medical treatment in the neuroscience and surgical intensive care units. Participated in leadership opportunities through unit committees and precepting.
