Summary

Gifted Elementary Instructor dedicated to promoting environment conducive to learning. Exceptionally skilled in leading activities designed to be both fun and educational for students ages 5-11. Deeply committed to optimizing student success.

I have seven years’ experience in the field of education. I have enjoyed working with children ages five to eighteen; however, Elementary Education has been the most rewarding. I am looking to obtain an Instructional Elementary School position while working on my teaching certification.

During the third semester of the 2022 school year, I was promoted to Movement Lab Instructor for grades K-5. The program was mainly focused on building foundations for balance, flexibility, improving stamina, and mindfulness. However, my current goals for the year are to combine more exercise routines that incorporate practice on basic Math and Language skills. I am also striving to build more class unity, empathy, and cooperation skills among my students.

Since the beginning of the 2022-2023, I have also started teaching lessons on Discovery Education to 4th and 5th graders. The primary focus of the classes are to increase knowledge and understanding of Science based subjects in preparation for the 5th grade Science EOGs.

From 2019-2021, my role was as an Elementary Teacher Assistant. I trained in Math Standards for grades 1st through 4th, ELA standards 1st through 4th, MTSS, Ortin Gillingham, LLI, Alphabetic Block, growth mindset strategies, and using mindfulness for controlling emotions or student disputes.

During the years of 2010-2012, I also enjoyed working as a substitute teacher. As a substitute teacher, I received constant call backs. I loved interacting with the students and tutoring those who struggled. I followed lesson plans in detail but could also create one if no instructions were given. I left very detailed notes about questions the students struggled on and gave specific praise or concern about behavior. Teachers were so impressed by my rapport with their classes that they left fifteen- minute lesson plans to teach.

All my training and experience has laid a solid foundation for transitioning into an alternative certified teaching position.
