As a research scholar, I'm a curious and driven individual with a passion for scientific discovery and hands-on research experience. Skilled in conducting experiments, analyzing data, and collaborating with others to solve complex problems. Eager and passionate about understanding how things work, sharing knowledge with others, and contributing to meaningful projects, while continuing to learn and grow as a researcher.
In my research experience, I carried out a range of experiments using E. coli and S. epidermidis bacterial cultures, using aseptic techniques for pipetting, serial dilutions, centrifugation, and plating. I conducted quantitative analyses through plate counting and spectrophotometry, analyzing the results and creating graphs and charts in Microsoft Excel. I helped with experimental design by creating hypotheses, developing procedures, and refining methodologies through trial and error. My responsibilities included researching and evaluating scientific literature to provide insight into experimental procedures and guarantee adherence to current research standards. I worked with lab mates and faculty to identify issues with methods, assess results, and discuss findings during lab meetings. In addition, I learned how to validate data, conduct statistical analyses, and work on research findings in the form of figures and written reports. I managed laboratory operations, including preparing and autoclaving agar plates, buffers, and medium while adhering to safety protocols and quality control standards.
