As a new airman to the career, I took pride and learned as much as I could about the pavements and equipment career field, i earned a chance to go to a couple of schools such as crane school before my peers due to motivation and willingness to learn. I was chosen to be a crew leader as an E-3, and I starting getting supervisory training as an E-4. I trained new airmen on equipment and other aspects of the job. Operated heavy equipment for construction jobs, repaired and built pavements, excavation work, fence repair and construction, tractor trailer operations, sweeper operations, crane operations as needed. Operate to push, pull, pile, load materials. Properly adjust attachments for proper applications such as installing lines, gutters, ditches. Safety is a must and priority as well as a clean job site. Proper use of materials to prevent spillage of grease, oil, etc. is a must. In my four years in the active duty side of the Air Force, I received the AF Good Conduct Medal w/cluster, and AF Achievement Medal, and the AF Longevity Award.
