Owner-Builder

Shed Solutions, LLC

  • (Self-employed) Construction, maintenance and removal of storage sheds, small decks and chain-link fence; home-maintenance, and specialty handyman projects. While still handling some of these tasks for previous customers, the owner has decided to pursue roles less impacted by weather conditions.

Interim Operations Manager & CSR

Hornet Machine & Hydraulics
01.2023 - 02.2025
  • Hired to bring a 22-year-old CNC machine company up to speed, create systems, increase efficiencies, reduce the owner’s workload, and grow a newly added hydraulic cylinder repair division. Increased turnaround in hydraulics from 10 to 3 days, courted new business customers, added pickup and delivery service, implemented customer communication practices, and ensured consistency in billing. Sought out and won additional lines and work from existing CNC customers, improved communications, and limited the owner's workload to the highest value tasks. The extra work required the purchase of additional machines, modifying the machine layout to increase workflow efficiency, and reducing production times. The final result was the highest grossing year for both divisions, growing from 400k+ to 950k+ in gross revenue. Streamlined office, invoicing, and communication systems as well. In early 2025, the role was no longer needed.

(Company closed due in early 2020)

Store Manager & Sales

Service Rent-All
02.2018 - 03.2019
  • Managed one branch of a equipment rental & sales company. I turned this branch into a profitable store in the first five months by focusing on building a loyal customer base, understanding customer needs, improving communication, and decreasing waste through better systems and practices. Duties included: keyholder; phones; front counter/customer service; merchandising, display, sales of parts, tractors, skid steers, and lawn equipment; daily cash handling; payment processing; billing & collections; scheduling deliveries and pickup of equipment; loading/unloading equipment; inspection of equipment before and after rental; daily reports; vendor relations; building maintenance; regular meetings with owners. (Transferred to Tyler Branch when the company split.)

Pastor

Collinwood First Baptist
06.2016 - 01.2018
  • (Bi-vocational position) All normal pastoral duties of preaching, teaching, overseeing meetings, counseling, weddings, funerals, baptisms. (Left this position when the farm above was sold which was my main income.)

Resident Farm Manager

Green River Farms
02.2015 - 01.2018
  • Resident Manager of 100-acre grass-fed beef, intensive-grazing farm. Developed all systems and procedures of startup from raw pasture to functioning operation. Duties included: Selection and purchase of cattle; herd health and reproduction via frozen semen; rotational grazing; marketing beef and scheduling processing dates; hauling cattle; maintaining farm including fencing and water systems. Attended regular further education courses in beef and grazing management offered by the University of TN, County Extension offices, and USDA/NRCS. This job required heavy interaction with the USDA and NRCS (Natural Resources Conservation Services) offices for farm improvement programs via annual cost-share and grant programs. Applied for and was funded for seven farm improvement projects. Was awarded annual payments through NRCS for exceeding grazing and riparian management benchmarks as well as wildlife habitat conservation. (Left when owners sold the farm and we wanted to return to Texas)

Pastor

Cross Country Cowboy Church
11.2009 - 01.2015
  • All normal pastoral duties including preaching, teaching, administration, counseling, weddings, funerals, oversight of ministry teams, developing leaders, legal compliance, employees, etc. My focus was spiritual growth of members, developing strong leaders and outreach. We saw the achievement of the goals we had set coming in. (We left the church after 5 years on excellent terms, simply feeling that it was time to go. The congregation is now in the care of a strong set of shepherds)
