Initially hired as a Tactical Program Manager (short-term acquisitions: anywhere between 2 months to 2 years out before the RFP). We carefully considered our win probabilities before proceeding to bid any effort and prepared bid reviews that served as justification for the release of B&P funds.
Performed the full range of business development tasks from the identification and qualification of opportunities to the development of call and capture plans through proposal development. Our group in Suffolk, Virginia, was the only significant business unit on the east coast. We worked on the complete business development from the initial aspects of the pursuit through to the submission of the proposal. This included the identification of opportunities, selection of teammates, and meeting with the customer to assure a proper understanding of the needs and requirements. During this period, the business unit grew from 35 people to over 500 with the wins that I led as the Proposal Manager.
