With over 37 years in the automotive industry, notably at Stellantis Automotive, I spearheaded initiatives that transformed the B15 area into the safest at Jefferson North Assy. plant, achieving zero injuries for 18 months. My innovative approach saved $2400 per unit by salvaging damaged bodies, showcasing my expertise in incident investigation and leadership in enhancing team productivity and safety compliance.
When i first became the Bodyshop Safety Captain the B15 area was the most dangerous place to work at Jefferson North Assy. plant. We had the most injuries in the plant. After i became the team leader as well as the Bodyshop Safety Caption the B15 area became the model area for the plant with no injuries for over 18 months. We became the safest area to work in.
I was able to get the team to work together to help deep clean the whole area. We where able to get all the old oil up off the floors, clean all the lights, tools, and more. This helped to keep everyone allot safer.
When i was the lead repairman for the bodyshop i came up with a process of taking the damaged roofs off the body in white bodies. I the past body shop management would through away the damaged body because they did not know how to roofs off the body. I came up with a provin process that saved the company $2400. for every body in white that had a damaged roof.
I have over 37 years of experience in the automotive industry, I can help the body shop achieve the production numbers through training the metal finishers the proper techniques of metal finishing. Teach them what to look for and the quickest way to repair the damage.
Over the last 37 years working for the Automotive industry i have learned allot on how to work with people. I have learned how to get work done and how to get the people to work together to achieve goals . I know if you can get people to work together as a team, you and the company will perform much better and will achieve the higher quilty of workmanship. This will generate more body in whites going to paint shop with better FTC output.
Ive had many rewords from the JNAP Recognition program. The latest one was when i developed a method on how to take roofs off a fully build body in white. This saved the company $2400 each for each body i could save.
Another achievement i earned was i came up with a process on how to save a damaged panels. I suggested when a panel is damaged with a deep scratch or ding. to take all the paint off the panel, repair the panel, then repaint the whole panel from top to bottom. In the past they would through away the panel because they could not paint the panel do to quality concerns.
With new technieques we will be able to save most of the damaged panels.
