Daily duties include conducting traffic stops, responding to calls for service, writing reports of calls and their outcomes, observing and processing crime scenes as needed, transporting individuals to appropriate facilities, and other duties as assigned. In addition to the customary duties and activities of a road deputy (as described below), responsibilities of FTO include teaching CCSO policies and procedures to newly hired deputies , training recruits on how to correctly conduct traffic stops and searches, and instruction in the writing of complete reports of activities. Daily Observation Reports are submitted at end of shift.
