2026 Design Build 1st Place Winner
The 2026 Design Build Competition, located in Caruthers, consisted of twenty-four different high school teams, each with nine people per team. Each team was given materials and the task to frame a complete 10'x12' shed. I competed in this shed building competition with a team of seven. We won the competition by scoring points by meeting safety, structural, and design standards. We mainly took first place because of the design of our shed which included paint, trim, and an added pergola. We showed excellent safety throughout the process and weren't given any warnings. Our first place prize included $5000 to our Construction ROP, a shout-out on the news, and bragging rights.
