Dynamic and dedicated Police Officer with the Seattle Police Department, skilled in conducting investigations and conflict de-escalation. Proven track record in community engagement and training new and veteran officers. Recognized for integrity and reliability while leading proactive anti-crime initiatives and marine operations, enhancing public safety and trust.
From 2004 until the present I have worked in the following roles in the Seattle Police Department:
Uniformed Patrol- I responded to 911 calls, engaged extensively with the community, conducted investigations, worked within a patrol squad that was responsible for a geographic section of the city, and responded to numerous critical events, such as shootings, car accidents, fights, large civil disturbances, fires etc.
South Precinct Anti-Crime Team-This was proactive street crimes/tactical unit with an emphasis on narcotics enforcement. Anti-Crime Teams conduct long term investigations and served dynamic search warrants, as well as acted as a focused problem solving tool for ongoing criminal hot spots within the city.
Harbor Patrol Unit- SPD's Harbor Patrol Unit is WA State's only 24/7 dedicated marine unit where I was a boat operator, rescue/recovery SCUBA diver, and marine firefighter. I also led the Harbor Unit's derelict vessel disposal efforts, coordinating within the department and other government agencies to remove and dispose of numerous derelict and abandoned vessels.
Training Unit Instructor- I worked extensively with the Training Unit as a firearms instructor for patrol rifle, handgun, and shotgun. I also worked as in instructor for Patrol Tactics, EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operations Course), LECC (Law Enforcement Casualty Care), Taser, and Post-BLEA (Post Basic Law Enforcement Academy).
Field Training Officer (FTO)- I was responsible for training student officers in the field after they graduated from the WA State Basic Law Enforcement Academy in preparation for their new career in law enforcement.
