During my internship at Hayes and Nash Design Co., an interior design firm, I gained firsthand experience with professional designers and design processes, learning how creative ideas are developed in functional spaces. I observed projects involving space planning, furniture and material selections and design presentations. I also learned how designers not only consider the aesthetic needs but also the functional needs of a space.

Enhanced understanding of collaboration, organization, and detail integral to design process. It also strengthened my interest in pursuing design and helped me begin to develop my own approach to creating thoughtful and purposeful spaces.
