Mud engineers are responsible for creating 'mud', or a mixture of fluids, and or clay that's used in the process of drilling for oil or gas. They usually have a background in engineering, drilling, or training in mud. They also work with other members on the drill site. Mud engineers, also known as drilling fluids engineers, use their knowledge of drilling practices to create specialized fluids to lubricate the bit and carry cutting out of the well bore as well as stabilizing the open hole section and assisting casing to land at total depth.
worked the tongs on the drilling floor helped maintain the drilling mud and fluid levels took.
Took care of the pump motors and the floor motors making sure they were well maintained and within the proper temperature and operating fluid levels
Kept all drilling fluids in the required parameters for the interval of the hole which we were drilling though.
maintained maintenance and upkeep on the mud pumps and motors
