Began a career in shipping with Kathrein USA, Inc. in 1994 after serving 4 years in the United States Coat Guard. Shortly after, I transitioned into a supervisory role and in 2010 was promoted to management. In 2014, the company announced its plan to relocate to Mexico. I was offered a position to assist with the transition and conversion to Mexico. This would mean relocating to Texas. After many months of negotiating and family discussions, my wife and I decided to decline the offer, the life we've created in Southern Oregon was too great to give up. While there has been a financial impact, the package I received includes funds designated for use in furthering my education or to achieve licenses/certifications as desired. This has opened the opportunity for me to seek a career in an entirely different industry.
For 40 years I have been an avid hunter and fisherman in the Pacific Northwest including time in Kodiak, Alaska. For the past 12 years I have been playing golf in leagues, tournaments, or just as an individual round.
