Energy Storage - lithium battery design, battery management systems, solar, and safety.

Automotive - electric vehicles, suspension design, crash testing, and validation testing.

Marine – dynamic modeling, risk analysis, life cycle, corrosion, fatigue, risk based.

Design for Manufacturing – sheet metal, casting, plastics, welding, complex assemblies.

Additional skills – Solidworks CAD design, rapid prototyping, system modeling, FMEA analysis, and MS Office products.

• Product design expertise: Enclosure design with sheet metal, die cast and plastics parts.
• Experience and good knowledge of designing enclosures for power electronics products to various environmental conditions (IP20, IP40, IP60, IP65, NEMA 4)
• Strong high-volume product design knowledge.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling using proengineer and/or Solidworks.
• Experience in defining DFM/DFA goals for new products.
• Good knowledge of the compliance and safety standards.
• Exposure to solar grid tie inverters is preferred but not mandatory.
• Knowledge of Li-ion Battery Storage mechanical design for outdoor residential installation.
• Certification knowledge for Solar Inverters and Storage Batteries for North Americas and Europe Markets.

• Hands on implementation and prototyping
• At crash tests, at floating solar install, at building install
• Thermal and structural modeling and simulation
• Product and component testing and report writing
• Interaction with 3rd party test services, compliance agencies, product certification
• Cost modeling of product, competitive bench marking, installation design, Industrial design, cost and time of installation considerations in design of products.
• Rapid prototyping of enclosures, coordination with factories and suppliers for Manufacturing & prototypes development.
• Conducts WCA and FMEA analyses to evaluate reliability and ensure there are no product safety/liability concerns.
