After retiring from a long career in hospitality Human Resources, I knew I wanted to help others in any capacity, especially at ABVM. I first started volunteering to prepare and serve meals at our funerals. I then joined the Knights of Columbus, and currently serve as Deputy to our Grand Knight. I also felt the calling to enroll in Stephen's Ministry training and completed the course. I have utilized what I learned when I visit the sick, homebound, and seek out people who are in need of a helping hand or a home-cooked meal.
Additionally, I am also a certified coach in Basketball and Softball for Special Olympics and have found all of these volunteer opportunities very rewarding. The human spirit is quite incredible when you see the many challenges people are faced with and how they overcome them. Some may need help, and that is what I hope to do more of in the future.
I have been married for 39 years and have one son. Lisa and I attend Mass weekly, I pray the rosary daily, and I pray mostly for those whom I know are in need. I also attend a men's bible study group e/o week and appreciate the insights, support, and knowledge of God's word.
I look forward to supporting our Assumption parish community in the years to come and appreciate how God has shown me a new path to serve others. I hope that the work and support of this new ministry will inspire others to join us, and Assumption is a vibrant image of God's love!
