Review and interpret customer drawings, specifications and purchase orders to determine product requirements with the goal of of successful and seamless product realization. Perform First Article inspections for new products and changes to existing product manufacturing processes. Perform Designated Quality Representative duties for major aerospace engine and aircraft customers. Review new and revised customer and industry specifications and maintain them within our Electronic Record Processing system. Manage the internal audit system, perform internal audits and lead external customer, AS9100 and NADCAP audits. Perform weekly workstation audits for shop floor machining centers. Perform training for new employees and for existing employees for changes in the QMS. Participate in resolving product and QMS nonconformances with production and engineering departments. Perform root cause and corrective action utilizing the 8D process.

Identify, receive and prepare paperwork for the refurbishing of incoming fuel nozzles for aerospace, power generation & industrial gas turbine customers. Inspect incoming parts from vendors to verify conformance to blueprint & purchase order requirements. Work with engineering to resolve issues.

Consult management on AS9100 certification requirements, auditing and maintenance of the QMS. Lead the initial audit of the Houston TX facility for AS9100 certification. Evaluate industry and customer specifications and verify the ability of the organization to meet requirements. Resolve conflicts between the organizational abilities and external customer and industry requirements. Lead AS9100 audit for locations in CT, TX and CA and perform internal audits of those facilities.

Manage all aspects of the QMS including conformance to Pratt & Whitney MCL requirements for aerospace alloy grades. Ensure compliance to ISO9001 standard at manufacturing plant and remote sales office in Illinois. Lead annual ISO audits and customer audits. Resolve conflicts between organizational abilities and customer and industry specifications through the specification review process. Work with the technical team at parent steel mill in Kapfenburg, Austria. Manage in-house lab testing of tool steel products.

Review material certs for incoming materials, verify conformance to AMS, ASTM, Pratt & Whitney and General Electric specifications. Work with customers to assist in their understanding of chemical, mechanical and metallurgical testing reported on material certs. Maintain conformance to the Pratt & Whitney MCL system. Send material samples to Appendix 56 qualified labs for testing and acceptance to MCL requirements when purchased from non-LCS certified sources. Review and resolve nonconformances, perform root cause & corrective action to prevent recurrence. Perform internal audits for locations in South Windsor CT, Indianapolis IN and Fresno CA. Lead AS9100 audits to maintain certification. Report metrics during quarterly management review.
