Secondment to the maintenance contract transition team. The team was established to develop new contract regions and new contracts that would meet Transpower's future needs.

The team had developed a framework working with our service providers that formed the basis of a transition plan to support the transition from the previous maintenance contract regions into the new contract regions. Primary risks included business continuity and ensuring key resources were secured into each contract region.

I was tasked with supporting Downer NZ into a new contract region essentially as a new electrical service provider to Transpower. Duties included,

  • Ensuring Downer's proposed structure and resources were right sized for the new contract region
  • Ensuring tools and equipment secured to support the contract
  • Support Downer in the development of systems and processes to manage all workflows safely
  • Maintain a risk register, and ensure appropriate mitigations in place for areas that were not adequately satisfied during the transition phase. Escalate as required.
  • Handover of the region to the maintenance teams for contract start
