  • Holy Names University: Led the University through leadership change & establishing a 5-year strategic plan, while developing a culture of transparency & accountability. Secured a $20M line-of-credit & $49M in bond financing. Maneuvered the pandemic. Spearheaded research on the future of the University leading to a decision to seek a merger partner. After a national search was not successful, led the Board through difficult discernment & decisions to close the University in May 2023, matriculate over 70% of the students to other institutions & sold the campus for $65M in June 2023.


  • Holy Names Legacy Funds: Working closely with the Attorney General of California refocused the corporate by-laws & articles to ensure that the legacy organization remained the trustee of a $60M endowment & established an organization focused on serving Oakland's students with college scholarships. Right-sized staffing including hiring an interim executive director. Currently focused on reconstituting the board, establishing & marketing the scholarship program & reengaging with donors, HNU alumni & the community.


  • Oakland School for the Arts: Effectively closed a $1.8M annual structural deficit, increased pay for teachers by 20-25%, all while making no reductions to arts programming. Reached full enrollment, introduced innovative new revenue streams & implemented creative cost reductions, while not directly impacting the student experience. Increased annual fundraising from $451K to $655K between FY15 to FY19 to $1.3M in FY24. Increased donor base from 461 donors in FY23 to 662 donors in FY24. Right-sized advancement pyramid with a mix of major donors & institutions. Launched a $2.85M capital campaign. In the discovery phase on a $30M capital campaign.


  • California Bank & Trust: Provided leadership to sell Sumitomo Bank's holdings in North America during the Asia Crisis, find a buyer, and, with Zions Bancorporation, founded California Bank & Trust. Established CB&T's enduring legacy as a bank of choice. CB&T continually is recognized with ‘best bank' awards from the community & industry groups for its commitment to service, financial solutions & customer relationships in a market of many larger & traditional financial players.
