In my 14 years at lowell I have been tasked with several responsibilities. Starting with in process inspection. Moving into the Thoratec cell that used to sit in about the same spot as the NTMX1 sits today. Advancing in that cell from running the rough machining processes to moving on into the finishing of the Inlet components of the heartmate 2. Staying in that position for several months. Until it was decided that we were going to move into a more of an automation style machining. Jim Stertz chose Mike Masterman and myself be a part this this project. I was tasked with the robot cell that I still run very effectively today. Eventually moving into the nakamura cell running and programming the NTMX and MX100 we have. I have a good knowledge of machine tools with most of my experience being with the Nakamura and Hardinge machines and am eager to learn more. I am also proficient with Gibbscam and have learned a total of three software systems to use for programming throughout my machining career. I am also very much looking forward to learning about using the Esprit software and its advanced capabilities. While some equipment shines above others. In my 20 years of being machinist there has not been a machine or software I haven't been able to learn. As technology and practices advance I'm here to advance with it. I would also very much appreciate to have the opportunity to advance and learn from the more experienced programmers here at Lowell.
