I’ve came a long way in such a short time. I’ve only been at Ace hardware for a little over three years and I’ve made it to a supervisor position. But I didn’t just get given that opportunity because I asked for it. I worked for it. I needed to push myself and try new things to make myself better. It wasn’t an easy task, I got out of my comfort zone, and made myself change for the better.
General job description
I started as a floor associate, where I would just help customers find what they are looking for and order whatever they would need ordered. Then I got promoted to the department manager of the power/hand tools department. I would manage overstock, make the isles look nicer, talk with mostly Milwaukee and Dewalt representatives about ordering more products. I then got another promotion during my 2nd year working to a supervisor position. I can open and close the store, do manager overrides, I drive the forklift to receive and deliver freight. I do deliveries and I work on all the rental equipment we have.
Main Duties/ responsibilities
This job was managed by my uncle. I would clean vehicle interior and exteriors, and make them look cleaner than when they came off the assembly line.
I had this job just for a few months because it was something to do while on summer vacation from school
