- Operate snow removal trucks, tractors, and other heavy equipment to remove snow and ice from roads, parking lots, and other areas; shovels, sweeps, chops ice, and applies deicing chemicals manually, as needed.
- Operate landscape construction and maintenance trucks, tractors, and equipment including the operation of heavy dump trucks, bulldozers, backhoes, loaders and other motorized equipment.
- Perform manual labor which includes shoveling, catch basin cleaning, tamping, litter control and etc.
- Utilize hand tools to perform a broad range of landscape construction, excavating and ground maintenance tasks to include but not limited to: installation of barricades, fencing, pavement and curbing repairs.
- Install asphalt and concrete to maintain and repair walkways, patios, pavements, and other hard surfaces.
- Perform construction excavation and backfilling activities. Installs, repairs, and maintains sewage lines, drainage pipes, and catch basins.
- Maintain and install landscape fixtures such as fence posts, benches, etc.
- Adjust, sharpen, and perform minor repairs on hand tools, as needed.
- Perform duties of Team Leader in his/her absence.
- Assist Team Leader in the planning and estimating of jobs.
- Assist in planning and directing work crews of 1 - 6 equipment operators, gardeners, grounds workers, temporary, and/or student employees.
- Participate in performance evaluations including dialogues, 360-degree surveys, assessments, etc.
- Attend educational seminars and training to maintain up-to-date knowledge of landscape maintenance techniques, construction technologies, and safety regulations.
