For the first 15 years of my real estate career, I primarily sold single family homes. Including downtown Dallas Highrise Condos and Condos at the Texas Motor Speedway. My love of the outdoors, hunting, fishing, sports and discovering new places sparked my interest in becoming a Land/Commercial Broker. At the time, I was the Lease Master (Mgr) of a 3,600 acres West Texas Deer Lease where I managed 15 Hunters activities. After receiving a LinkedIn email from and old friend in West Texas interested in selling the family ranch, I thought why not me. And in 2019 my land business was born.
Marketing the United Country Real Estate and RealTree Hunting brands and Land/Ranch Listings in the MLS on Social Media brought awareness among my Followers and Friends. And surprisingly enough, other Realtor Friends. The other part of my business, of which I had no idea, would be Buyers living in the DFW MetroPlex. The local and State Association of Realtors started providing Training classes on Commercial, Land, Farm and Ranch Brokerage. After attending every class I could, I quickly began marketing myself as a Land/Farm/Ranch Broker.
Some of my accomplishments include Brokering, Small North Texas Ranchettes, East Texas Duck Hunting Properties, several hundred acre West Texas Cattle Ranches, Large Multi Million Dollar Commercial Land Development tract (2 yr Project requiring Zoning Use Change, P&Z and City Council Approval), AMC Movie Theatre Transition to a large Local Church (18 mo Project requiring Zoning Use Change, P&Z and City Council Approval),and Brokered a 10 acre Church property to the local Independent School District.
In the last 10 years I served 2 Terms on our local City Council, Fire District Board, TIRZ Board (Tax Increment Revitalization Zone) Police Chief Advisory Committee, City Master Plan Committee, EDC Board (Economic Development Corporation) including active Membership in ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centers), and City P&Z (Planning and Zoning Commission). The experience I received serving on these Boards and Commissions provided me with the working knowledge of City and County Governments.
City Projects include establishing the TIRZ, Comprehensive Rezoning of the City, Updating the City Master Plan, Hiring a New City Manager, Hiring a New Fire Chief, Establishing a Rental Car Use Tax to Fund a new constructed $14 million Local Park named the Agora.
