I am currently a Certified Quality Inspector with 20 years of manufacturing experience. The last 4 years I have been employed with Philadelphia Gear as a CNC machinist and Quality Inspector. I have gained the necessary knowledge and understanding of Philadelphia Gear’s standards, SOP’s, Marine main reduction gear projects/ Aftermarket gearbox projects, purchase orders and receiving materials and goods. I have upheld excellent communication and working relationships with the Engineering Department, the current Marine Buyers and Management. Proficient in documentation, reporting and compliance standards such as materials, processes, and inspection methods. Meticulous and methodical professional with a deep understanding of manufacturing and production operations within ISO 9001.
I advanced from the Machine shop to the Inspection Department. My previous Quality experience as a Team Lead Machinist in manufacturing has enabled me to excel as a Quality Inspector at Philadelphia gear. Within two years of being a quality inspector, I have gained a comprehensive understanding of the processes, procedures, and standards of Philadelphia Gear. As such, I have improved the purchase order receiving process by utilizing emails to retrieve certain quality documents in a timely manner that are missing in the purchase order. As a result of my action, it has improved communication between the purchasing department which has improved the lead time and on time delivery.
I identified the need and improved the DMR process by utilizing emails and an iPad to send pictures to help speed up the DMR and disposition process with the Buyers, Management, and Engineering department. This has improved the open purchase order led time to within/under 30 days which in return has satisfied the vendor with payment and on time delivery.
January of 2023, the General Manger present me with an opportunity to attend Accelerated Training in Defense Manufacturing (ATDM) for a Quality control inspection (Metrology) certification. Upon successful completion of the ATDM program, I achieved the Certified Quality Inspector from American Society for Quality (ASQ).
