Work History

Crane Operator

Alaska Frontier Constructors
11.2016 - Current

I operate and maintain cranes and various oilfield equipment throughout the northslope oilfield in Prudhoe Bay Alaska. I run hydraulic cranes from 60 ton up to 130 ton. I run lattice boom crawler crawler cranes from 80 ton up to 400 ton Manitowoc 16000.

I inspect and maintain the cranes which includes changing track pads, replacing wire rope, wiring in new 110 volt boom lights, assure proper lubrication, trouble shooting computer error codes, touchup painting, and assist mechanics with major repairs

I use tools including end wrenches, welders, oxygen and acetylene cutting torch, porta powers, wire pliers, multimeters, wire testers, hammers, punches, chisels, pry bars, sockets and ratchets, allen wrenches, pneumatic impact tools, grease guns, screw drivers, grinders, metal cutting saws, cable cutters, feeler gauges, calipers, micrometers, drills, drill presses, band saws, and propane torches.

We make complex lifts using rigging such as nylon, wire rope, chain, and polyester slings, shackles up to 200 ton, spreader bars, chain falls, and comealongs. We make lifts where blueprints are needed to connect to the lift points so I have a good blueprint understanding.

I transport the cranes using a removable gooseneck lowboy and doubles lowboy which is two 200 ton lowboys connected together side by side to haul the larger cranes fully erected with a gross load of nearly one million pounds.

I also operate most oilfield equipment including front end loaders, excavators, graders, trenchers, dump trucks, water trucks, fuel trucks, winch trucks, self propelled snow blowers, dirt trimmers, over head cranes, foundation air and auger drills, telehandler, skid steers, dozer, manlifts, diesel impact and vibratory hammers, fork lifts, and offroad trucks.

Often times I have worked at heights and in confined space. I have initiated work permits and wrote job safety analysis for work performed throughout the oilfield. We use proper PPE including hard hats, gloves, fall protection, safety glasses, steel toe work boots, face shields, goggles, welding helmets, and fire retardant clothing.

In the slow time I assisted the mechanics rebuilding diesel engines, hydraulic pumps, hydraulic valves, gearboxes, transmissions, differentials, and general diesel mechanics.

Crane Operator/Driller

Ch2m Hill
01.2007 - 11.2016

I drilled holes up to ten foot diameter for cellars, conductors, and support piles on the north slope of Alaska. I used Watson air and auger foundation drills. I used 60 to 300 ton cranes to set the piles and pipe in the hole. I used oxygen and acetylene cutting torch, propane torches, lincoln 400 pipeline welder to weld the piles into place. I also used grinders, pry bars, laser transits, grade rods, shovels, rakes, and levels. I read blueprints of job layout to get an understanding of where the holes were to be drilled.

I maintained the drills using grease guns, end wrenches, air and cordless impact tools, and general hand tools.

I maintained a very good safety record receiving multiple safety awards and bonuses. I started out as a groundman and worked my way up to a driller and then being promoted to drilling foreman.

I operated crane on several oil gathering center shutdowns assisting the turbine rebuild crew hoisting turbine engine parts to and from the facility. When the crane wasn't needed i was able to help the rebuild crew with disassembly and assembly of the turbines, generators, pumps, electric motors, compressors, and valves.

I also operated and maintained a 150 horsepower portable boiler that we used for thawing culverts in the spring. I replaced and repaired steam piping, fittings and valves to keep the boiler safe and operating.

Equipment Operator

Idaho County Road Department
05.2003 - 01.2007

I maintained county gravel and paved roads throughout Idaho county. I mostly operated a road grader plowing snow in the winter months and grading gravel roads the remainder of the year. I also drove a truck mounted snow plow plowing snow on the pavement, drove dump truck and belly dump, operated a pavement chip sealer machine, excavator, dozer, vibratory roller, avation fuel truck, front end loader, paint striping machine, and, lowboy trucks.

We did several road reconstructions projects as well as cleaning up land slides and repairing flood damaged roads. We resurfaced paved road using a chip sealing method in the summer time. We maintained and repaired most of our own equipment.

Meat Cutter

Rosauers Supermarkets Inc.
05.1988 - 05.2003

I started as an apprentice meat cutter right out of high school and within a year and a half was promoted to meat department manager. I oversaw a crew of up to 15. I wrote budgets, I always exceeded gross profit levels, kept wage costs in line, performed monthly inventory, and kept sales at or above expectations. I received multiple sales growth awards. I enhanced meat product quality by emplementing proper cutting techniques and adhering to sanitation standards. Increased efficiency with the expert use of various cutting tools including saws grinders, and knives. Maintained a clean and organized workspace for maximum productivity and safety. Collaborated with team members to keep the department fully stocked and visually appealing for increased sales. Developed a strong relationship with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high quality products.
