Officer of the year, Governors life saving award
During my second year working as a School Resource Officer in the local high school, I was motivated to have an impact on the students and community. I help built positive relationship between the shool and the police department. I lead an investigation that year prevented a possible school shooting. I built a presentation on the dangers of sexting, and presented it to the parents and community. I started the After Prom Party which provided a substance free place for students on a night high substance abuse to be. These where all contributing things that lead to me be chosen as the Officer of the Year.
I was awarded the Union Leader Governors life saving award. in 2007 I was dispatched to subject yelling at a beach that was closed for the night. When I arrived I was advised by the three young adults that their friend had gone under the water and he could not swim. I went out into the dark water looking for the male subject I was joined by and off duty Laconia fire fighter and another Laconia Police Officer. While search the dark lake water, about 40 yards from the shore line the male subject was located about 20 feet down in the lake. I swam down and was able to bring the male up to the surface for awaiting EMS.
