Maintenance Mechanic

Over seeing and assigning work to the maintenance crews covering all of Amarillo and ranging from dirt work, concrete work, wood and or metal work and fabrication with some pluming, and doors and locks.

Proficient with all kinds of equipment and hand tools.

Welding, carpentry, dry wall, roofing, siding, chain-link, wood work, plumbing and some irrigation work.

Over saw the work, planned, trained employees on equipment and techniques of the jobs.

Did weekly call outs and call backs, ever three months.

Park Maintenance Supervisor

I am on call out three months a year. Check and approve time off requests, job training, safety trainings, employee evaluations, job assignments and the fallow up of the assignments. Equipment inventory and schedule servicing.

Finding, planning, suppling, equipment, for projects and day-to-day work assignments. Completing personal assignments. Insuring readiness of reservations for the citizens. Inspections and scheduling maintenance and repairs for the 65 properties assigned as my responsibilities. Inspect and over see the work of the sub-contractors. Write up and collect bids for products and services to submit to the park superintendent for approval.

I am over three different sections of Park Maintenance. The Park Maintenance crews that pick up litter, down limbs, clean the park restrooms that are opened. Report issues that need addressed in the parks or public buildings. The Forestry crew that looks after the trees in all of Amarillo parks and public buildings and some main streets. And the Graffiti crew that removes graffiti in all am Amarillo parks, public buildings and some other places when needed. They also power wash the shelters in parks and maintain the park wooden signs.

Record keeping on paper and computer. Reports created daily, weekly, and monthly. Creating, tracking and closing out Work Orders on all team members. Learning new computer programs that track each employees information on my crew.

Plan, conduct monthly section meetings, for training and covering safety topics.

Supervise and hands on instructions and assist to get the work completed in a timely manner. Led by example. Be able to assist in the work anyway needed, form digging by hand or operating equipment. If fabrication is involved the drawing up the plans with all the material list and measurements. Making purchase up to $3000.00 at time on a company credit card or purchase requisition up to so far $25,000.00.

I worked my way up from a seasonal help to supervisor in less than 9 years.
