I have been in construction full time since 1986. I started out in site development and residential site work.
Clearing, Erosion Control, Earth Moving for roads and pad site for Homes and Commercial Buildings.
I have worked on county, state and federal projects. I have done work on Fort A.P Hill in Bowling Green,VA.
I have Performed and supervised work on Fort Belvior in Fairfax County. Davison Airfield on Fort Belvior.
I have performed and supervised work on electrical generating facilities at Bear Island in Doswell,Va.
I have performed and supervised work on sewer and water treatment facilities for and in Stafford County,Va.
My wife and I owned a small Lawn and Landscaping business for several years serving our community in
Stafford,Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania Va. We did full service lawn, landscape and hardscape work. I also
kept busy with small excavation site jobs. We decided to give that up in 2017 because I tired of mowing. I
wanted to get back into the big stuff and big iron. I took on a full time position with Kelvic Construction. A
growing and successful Pipe Contractor in Stafford County Va. I took an equipment operator position to
get my back into the big leagues, not to mention running heavy equipment is one of my all time favorite things
to do. It wasn't long till they noticed my knowledge of the trade needed to utilized in a more helpful way to
the company. I moved into a Pipe Foreman position and the filled in as Superintendent as needed. That's
where I took the leap into Safety as a Title. Then came the merge of Kelvic and Shirley Contracting. I
stepped into the safety Manager here and look forward to what the future holds moving forward. People ask
me how long I've been in safety..... I tell them my whole career.
