Dr. Meng Wang is a Howard Hughes Medical Institute investigator with $5.6 million in current NIH and HHMI funding, studying the genetic mechanisms of aging. As lab manager, I support Dr. Wang in leading a 22-person lab. My role demands exceptional organization skills, attention to detail and impeccable professional integrity.

• Established open channels of communication across team by implementing official lab Slack channel, as well as scheduling opt-out meetings of each trainee with Dr. Wang.
• Established calm environment for dispute settlement, utilizing conflict resolution techniques to reach agreements to contentious issues, with unwavering commitment to confidentiality and professionalism, de-escalating as appropriate.
• Manage procurement of lab equipment, supplies and resources using Quartzy and institutional marketplace interfaces, managing budget of $1 million per year without roll-over.

• Manage all travel arrangements and reimbursement for Dr. Wang’s national and international travel, and schedule all itineraries for invited speakers.

As Database and Business Intelligence Developer, I worked extensively with clients in finance (NASDAQ), insurance (Farmers) and education industries (Laureate and Kaplan). I played critical roles in recruitment, evidence-based decision-making, requirement gathering, solution development and implementation.

• As member of recruiting team, reviewed resumes, shortlisted candidates, conducted technical and behavioral interviews, and worked closely with HR team for recruitment and onboarding.
