Initially I was hired as the registration and transcriptionist person for the therapy clinic. I performed all clerical duties relating to registration, insurance verification and collecting co-pays. In 2013 I transferred to the emergency room registration after the death of my husband. In 2018 I was asked by the administrator of the nursing home (which was owned by the hospital) to work in the business office. My duties there included registration of new residents and obtaining all financial and medical information required prior to placement in the facility. I also was responsible for the data input of all charges each month for each resident. In addition I was responsible for billing and collection of monies owed by the resident and/or family member.
