Initially I was hired as the registration and transcriptionist person for the therapy clinic. I performed all clerical duties relating to registration, insurance verification and collecting co-pays. I also did all the transcription for a total of four therapists (1 physical therapist, 1 occupational therapist and 2 speech therapists. In 2013 I transferred to the emergency room registration after the death of my husband. In 2018 I was asked by the administrator of the nursing home (which was owned by the hospital) to work in the business office. My duties there included registration of new residents and obtaining all financial and medical information required prior to placement in the facility. I also was responsible for the data input of all charges each month for each resident. In addition I was responsible for billing and collection of monies owed by the resident and/or family member.
As an agent for Nationwide I sold auto, home, life and health insurance as well as selling securities. I was responsible for maintaining records of client communications, transactions, policies and assisting clients with claims as well as maintaining accurate records of all monies received.
I started in Mr. Marshall's office as a file clerk. I soon progressed to the position of insurance clerk and then to office manager supervising three other insurance clerks. My primary position was providing customer service from the point of sale, addressing any issue with discretion, empathy and confidentiality. I was also a part of the hiring and training process for new employees,
