- As Kitchen and cooking is a dominant working space in every household and demands consistent output on a daily basis. It imposes a huge responsibility on majority of Women and occasionally on Men. The personal challenges I face while cooking and the need to have a creative expression was a driving factor to develop a solution to automate a gas stove to self-monitor the cooking process and provide utmost safety while cooking, and to secure a patent with title “System and method to automate a gas stove/cooktop”.
- Product innovation titled “System and Method to automate a gas stove/cooktop” - to control the flame and automatic gas cut-off, allows operations through integrated touch-LED digital display panel. Product design and system’s functionality design is patented in IP India. (Ref: Patent number-‘364913’). International Patent is filed in WIPO.
- System/Innovation Description: The regular gas doesn’t have a control mechanism to control the flame, self-monitor the flame and cut-off the gas flow once the cooking process is complete. The innovation produced here enables users to set time, temperature and other parameters and the system is set to alert the user about the cooking status of the food item that is being cooked. The system enables the gas stove to control the flame and cut-off the gas automatically using timer and allows user operation through touch-LED digital display panel. It is also enabled to be an IoT device that connects with Bluetooth devices in the home network. The system can send alerts, messages to the connected device about the conditions of the cooking apparatus and cooking food item on each burner. Advantage of having such a system is that it can provide safety while cooking and reduce the stress of user while cooking. It also tries to bridge the gap between Induction cooktops and regular gas stoves.
