Project Description: The project scope included WiFi testing on new products like Xfinity private, business gateways, and X1 wireless TV boxes. The WiFi testing lifecycle starts from device onboarding into the test environment to production trials.

Role: Wi-Fi QA Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Creation of test plans and writing test cases for the product technical requirement
  • Onboarding of the devices
  • Performance (RvO) test to measure throughput and functional testing on X1 wireless TV boxes like WNC XiOne and Sercomm XiOne
  • WiFi Functional testing on Xfinity Commercial gateway CBRv2
  • Performance (RvO) and functional testing on the triband gateway device XB8
  • Led a team of 5 engineers to test the XB8 gateway with RDK-B One WiFi architectural changes.
  • Interop testing on XB8 with various managed and unmanaged client devices

The Project scope included comprehensive WiFi mesh testing on new Xfinity private and business gateways, extenders, and clients, end-to-end testing of cloud features in staging and production environments, and testing of gateway features like WiFi7, and HCM. The mesh testing included band steering, device, and client stat verification and optimization tests. The end-to-end feature testing includes the verification of the data flow from the gateway/extender to the cloud and vice versa.

Role: Mesh Dev QA Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Creation of test plans and writing test cases for product technical requirements
  • Onboarding of devices- Loading test image, boot, and COS files. Creation of Xfi test account and Mesh accounts. Configuring testbed for product testing
  • 802.11 k/v band and client steering testing on TCXB7 and TCXB8 with and without extenders like XE2 PODs and storm ready wifi device
  • End-to-end mesh testing on CBRv2 when mesh was enabled on commercial gateways
  • Worked on Mesh feature -Hybrid Comcast Mesh (HCM) project on TXB7
  • Represented team in TCM (Test Case Management tool) meetings, suggested various improvements to tool and supported the entire team in the migration of test cases from TCM to Octane (test case management tool)
  • Mesh feature testing- OCS, WPA3, DFS on CBRv2 gateway
  • Led complete mesh testing for XE3 extender project with 6Ghz backhaul
  • Band steering testing on 6GHz capable clients like Apple, Samsung, Google Pixel, and One Plus mobile clients
  • Configuring Octoscope test bed for mesh automation testing
