• Developed a flexible media center schedule which allowed me to research, analyze, and collaborate with colleagues daily to implement digital literacy lessons including digital citizenship. On a fixed schedule, created a framework for learning to establish expectations to deter behaviors that could potentially disrupt the learning and collaboration setting. Used future ready library guidelines to create multi-use learning and instruction spaces throughout the library including makerspace, reading nooks, game areas, whole group area, and visual and interactive displays.
• Developed media center collections based on the American Association of School Library (ASSL) guidelines.
• Worked with the media and technology committee to ensure the media center collection met the needs of the students and staff.
• Coached Robotics and Battle of the Books team.
• Created displays, book talks, and literacy lessons to promote reading interest. Purchased over $60,000 in books over the last four years to provide a high interest, diverse collection of books for student/staff checkout and curriculum support.
• Created a K-5 library curriculum integrating arts into literacy promotion and education.
• Cooperatively worked with itinerant team teachers to create enrichment cluster groups.
• Worked collaboratively to develop and implement schoolwide policy and procedures for the acquisition, distribution and daily support of over 1,000 Chromebooks and other electronic learning devices.
