● Assist in the training and handling of large reptilian species, including American alligators and Asian water monitors.

● Deliver engaging interpretive programs with a concentration on making conservation and education fun.

● Maintain the proper handling of all animals.

● Conduct routine care and feeding of reptilian, amphibian and mammalian species.

● Conduct routine care and feeding of marine and freshwater fish, stingrays, sharks, and invertebrates.

● Observe animals to ensure health and overall well-being.

● Assist in water quality testing and adjustment.

● Maintain and troubleshoot basic to intermediate life support systems (pumps, filtration, heaters).

● Deliver world-class service to all guests and address customer concerns professionally and positively.

● Provided daily husbandry care for ambassador animals, including feeding, enclosure cleaning, habitat maintenance, and behavioral observations.

● Participated in public animal encounters, demonstrations, and keeper talks to promote wildlife conservation and animal welfare.

● Ensured compliance with animal welfare standards, safety protocols, and USDA/ AZA-aligned practices.

● Supported veterinary care by monitoring animal health, reporting behavioral or physical changes, and assisting during routine checks.

● Handled ambassador species confidently and safely during outreach events and on-grounds programs

● Assist as a camp counselor during school-age and preschool zoo camp.

● Work directly with the permitted rehabilitator to administer prescriptions, assist in intake exams, perform wound care, and other medical treatments.

● Clean indoor cages, outdoor enclosures, food dishes, and laundry.

● Prepare solid diets for a variety of species.

● Hand-feed infant and juvenile patients.

● Provide enrichment to patients and residents.

● Assist members of the public with patient intakes and answering phone calls.

● Educated members of the public on conservation and native wildlife at outreach events.
