Provided targeted care and treatment to patients suffering from stroke, dementia, chronic illnesses, post-surgical rehabilitation, and those in need of recovery. Additionally, worked as part of a team with 2 RNs and 1 CNA, caring for 50+ patients in a unit using a functional nursing approach.

Observed elderly patients at risk of choking during mealtime and provided the abdominal thrust maneuver to a patient with a body airway obstruction.

Performed general interventions including pressure sore assessment, wound dressing, suctioning, starting an intravenous (IV) line, assisting clients with sleep, pain control, colostomy care, and administering medications via IV, PO, SQ, IM.

Provided targeted care and treatment to patients suffering from traumatic brain injury, ischemic stroke, intracranial hemorrhage, brain tumor, seizure disorders, post-craniotomy, patients with increased intracranial pressure, as well as various other complex acute and chronic medical conditions in a 30-bed neuro critical care unit at a hospital with a total of 800 beds and a 5:1 patient-to-nurse ratio.

Performed specialized interventions, including mechanical ventilation management, administration of vasoactive medication, continuous sedation management, central arterial line management, measuring drainage from Hemovac, blood product transfusion, tracheostomy management, and assisting the physician with endotracheal intubation.

Performed general interventions, including changing the patient's body position; monitoring I/O; adjusting head positioning according to the condition; suctioning; managing catheters; providing intravenous or enteral feeding; and assessing pupils and the Glasgow Coma Scale.
