Sunil Amanthra Keloth

I work as a lead engineer in core Client Data Services (CDS) team at Northwestern Mutual (NM). Our team support and modernize the legacy batch jobs and online services and develops APIs for retrieval and maintenance of client data aligning to organizational client data strategies.

• I work with three scrum teams primarily responsible for developing Mainframe APIs and batch jobs. I lead business feature refinement activities, code and test reviews, providing help in issue resolutions and also provides consultation to consuming applications.
• I work on monitoring and alerting solutions using Dynatrace, BMC Mainview, ELK etc. to proactively identify issues and reducing business impact.
• I Utilize tools like BMC Mainview, OmegaMon, APA etc. to analyze performance bottlenecks and develop solutions.
• I Work on POCs to implement modern features in Mainframe echo system (like multi-threading, asynchronous calls, Kafka connectors) to resolve some of engineering problems to improve APIs, coordinate with infrastructure team and developers to get it implemented.
• I take part in critical care call during production incidents to resolve the situation and then contribute to root cause analysis and then in problem resolutions.

At Connect Your Care I worked on several enhancements to the Customer portal and backend batch jobs.

• I worked with business analysts to understand the issues reported by users and to develop fixes and enhancements.
• I coordinated the work with a team of four at an offshore location.
• I re-wrote one of the low performing batch job using spring batch to improve performance and to solve some data inconsistency issues.

During this 12 years, I worked primarily on Northwestern Mutual projects, but also worked for other retail clients. I started as Software Engineer and then moved to Technology Analyst and Technology Lead roles.

• I worked as a programmer and got opportunity to do development work in multiple programming languages including PL1, Java, C++, COBOL, Unix Scripting interacting with DB2, Sybase and Oracle databases. I also worked on Visual Basic, C# and ASP.net in the initial years.
• I led small development and production support teams from India and USA during this time.
• I developed automation tools to automate repetitive tasks using EXCEL macros, Unix Scripts and SAS.
