City Year AmeriCorps members serve as tutors, mentors, and role models in schools that need additional support.

• Serving 1700+ hours of full time service on a diverse team of six members to provide academic tutoring, behavior coaching, and a positive school climate to 250 high-poverty students
• Help students succeed academically and socially
• Work closely with teachers and school staff to implement programs that foster a positive learning environment
• Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring, and facilitate after- school activities
• Involved in community service projects and help mobilize volunteers to support educational initiatives in the community

Facilitate smooth operation of food service areas, typically in hospitals or cafeterias.

• Setting up & cleaning food service stations, serving meals on trays, and assisting customers with their selections
• Maintaining cleanliness & adhering to health and safety standards

Responsible for processing customer transactions in retail or food service environments.

• Manage scanning items, handling cash and credit transactions, providing receipts, and ensuring an accurate cash drawer
• Must perform excellent customer service, assist customers with inquiries, and sometimes manage returns or exchanges

Accountable for organizing & placing items into inventory at fulfillment centers.

• Involves receiving products, scanning them into the system, and placing them in designated storage locations.
• Demonstrate that items are stored correctly and accessible for order fulfillment
• Maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting the over efficiency of the fulfillment process.
