As an owner-operator of a Burger King, I hired and trained the staff working in the stores and the various office positions. We worked with people from the community in which the stores were located. We also worked with first offenders in work release programs.

Many of the employees were young people in high school who had families and were contributing to their families. Our presence in the community was vital to the community rallying around us and spending money in our restaurants.

It was essential to teach what professional contact meant to people for the very first time in their lives. I enjoyed the fact that I was making a difference in real situations.

I am the fourth child of eight children and the first girl of three boys. That affords me a sense of awareness of both male and female. I am comfortable with people. I try to be kind and I was taught to be nice. I take pleasure in my gift of discernment..

I am a golfer, although not that good. I am in the choir at church, although that activity has changes sense Covid. I have a husband who is battling illness in his life and I am his fiercest fighter. I have a son whose has a family in Chicago that I visit alt least every six weeks.

• I have a lifetime of accomplishments, but I will only mention a few. I won the Best Supporting Actress for a role, Miss Quanta, in the Seris of Dating Savannah. in the L.A. Film Festival. The festival which is a very prestigious award in the up and coming film industry. I am a player in the film Bride Maids. It has been named one one the best movies in the last 100 years of film.

I have recently joined the job market after several years of relocating to Memphis and completing my quest of my undergraduate degree. I have chosen wducation becaue I see the need for people like myself, experienced in many areas as well as raising two extremely successful children, that  I have a lot of wisdom to pass on. Our children need people who really care about them. They need adults that they can respect, admire and know we are on their side and only want the best for them. Many of them need safe havens. I am that safe for many.
