My role is the same as it was during secondment.
My role is varied and challenging. It involves maintaining driver competency by completing competency assessments as per ACSM schedules, or request authorisations if it is not completed.
Another important task is undertaking incident investigations and suggesting actions to improve safety of the railway. This also involves developing B10 support plans, by liaising with driver and Union reps.
I manage attendance, undertake RTW interviews, attendance Stage 1 and Stage 2 meetings, fact finding interviews, carrying out Fit for duty checks, weekly depot checks, 4 weekly Engg depot checks, helping Occupational health with Random drug tests, communicate and coordinate with various departments to improve safety and performance of SWR.
Nearly 15 months training where I learned various tractions in the classroom, followed by practical handling of trains. I learned 4 VEP ( class 423 ), 4 CEP ( class 411) and 455 traction.
Next I completed route learning on route coming out of Waterloo to Basingstoke, Alton, Guilford via Woking, New line and Epsom, Dorking, Chessington South, Hampton court, Shepperton, Kingston and Hounslow rounders, Windsor, Weybridge via Staines and Reading.
