I have traveled the world extensively working in domestic and public sectors, including high profile clients. I have worked with many families who have children with special needs, including severe autism, cerebral palsy, ADHD, Down's Syndrome, epilepsy, diabetic children and children requiring feeding tubes. I am a motivated, compassionate individual and was in demand in my chosen profession. I have worked with people of all ethnicities and social backgrounds. I have had to be discreet and diplomatic, working with broken and blended families, children with behavioral and emotional issues. Sometimes having to intervene between parents for the emotional and psychological well being of their children. In 1997, I took 7 years off to raise my family of 2 children.
Worked as part of a team in setting up two young adults with disabilities, in their own home with 24 hour supervision.
As a team, we introduced a young man with non-verbal autism and a young woman with several learning disabilities and epilepsy, to independent living. Both require constant supervision but are learning new skills that are helping them live more independent lives. We continued with their activities and introduced new ones, both individually according to their abilities and together as roommates.
