Worked as Switchboard Operator and Admitting Clerk for two years. Answered switchboard calls 11 incoming lines.. Routed calls, paged employees, beeped doctors in emergencies, took all ambulance calls in route. Signed in patients through the emergency room and for outpatient procedures. Gathered patient personal information and input to the computer, made copies of insurance cards for their files. This was a very fast paced job and had to multi task quickly and professionally. Transferred to Billing Department for the next two years. Filed Medicare, Medicaid and Blue Cross Insurance electronically daily. Filed all other insurance through paper claims. Mailed out statements to patients. Answered phones when patients called with billing questions.
