The mission statement from my graduation at NAU, and up to this point has never wavered. A positive personal goal, is to do my very best to build a strong educational foundational for students through creative and engaging learning experiences, coupled with strong, effective resources and curriculum.
I strongly believe that building a relationship with students starts with mutual respect, and caring, and is the key component to reaching them where they are, and building a strong skill set. Finding what we have in common, and using who students are, and how they learn best, builds a strong foundation for helping them to be successful learners. There are many styles of teaching, and behavior management, but for me, having a positive mindful environment, listening carefully to students, and managing behavior calmly, and fairly provides the basis for learning and teaching in the classroom.
Our educational system has had some growing pains in recent years, and my additional goal now, is to get students back on track, and build and strengthen their skills going forward.

Any occasion to get together, is a joy. We enjoy cooking new foods, and listening to great music, and watching and critiquing movies. They are the light of my life, and I learn so much from being around them. My husband of 41 years is my travel partner, and fellow camper. We look forward to many adventures ahead, exploring new places, and finding as many birds as we can in the United States! Life is good.
