Magnet Coordinator

• Responsible for overseeing the administration and operation of magnet programs within the district, including student recruitment, application process, curriculum development, staff training, and performance monitoring, ensuring high-quality educational experiences for students seeking specialized learning opportunities within magnet schools; I also act as a liaison between magnet programs, parents, students, and school administration to facilitate smooth implementation and maintain program integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Student Recruitment and Admissions: Conduct outreach to potential magnet program students and families through presentations, school visits, and information sessions.
  Manage the centralized magnet application process, including eligibility verification and selection criteria.
  Disseminate information about magnet programs through various channels like website, brochures, and community events.
• Curriculum Development and Oversight: Collaborate with teachers and curriculum specialists to develop and maintain rigorous magnet program curricula aligned with state standards.
  Monitor the implementation of magnet program curriculum and ensure fidelity to the program design.
• Staff Training and Support: Provide professional development opportunities for magnet program teachers on specialized instructional methods and curriculum delivery.
  Support magnet teachers in integrating project-based learning, inquiry-based approaches, and other innovative strategies.
• Performance Evaluation and Data Analysis: Collect and analyze student achievement data to assess the effectiveness of magnet programs.
  Collaborate with school leadership to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary adjustments to magnet programs.
• Community Engagement and Liaison: Build relationships with parents, community organizations, and feeder schools to promote magnet programs.
  Address concerns and questions from parents regarding the magnet application process and program details.
• Administrative Tasks: Prepares reports and presentations on magnet program activities and outcomes for district leadership. Manage program budgets and allocate resources effectively.
  

Head of Multimedia Magnet Program

• Teach, train, and instruct high school juniors and seniors on various aspects of multi-media; to include but not limited to, television production, radio production, print and broadcast journalism, and public speaking
• Teach the following courses: TV Production 1&2, Journalism 1&2, and Speech 1
